Description
Kalevala Koru brings a magnificent collection of Viking Age jewellery from 800-1050 within reach of today's people. On their eastern trade expeditions, the Vikings stopped on the Finnish coast and exchanged furs for, among other things, weapons and jewellery. Inspired by these pieces of jewellery from various parts of the world, Finnish jewellers created new pieces that surprisingly took on a distinctly original, Finnish form. The jewellery created then has, in turn, inspired later jewellers to design pieces that are clearly Viking Age in spirit. Germund Paaer, the creator of Kuutar, designed many beautiful pieces of jewellery with Viking motifs.
