Delivery and returns

Free shipping within Finland on orders over 50 euros. For orders under 50 euros, we charge 4.90, 6.90, or 8.90 euros, depending on the delivery method.

You can also order a pickup from our Helsinki store. There you can calmly examine the product and then make your final purchase decision. Pickup is, of course, free of charge.

We dispatch orders within our business hours, Monday to Friday. Shipments are typically sent in batches every day or every other day (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

During sales, deliveries may be delayed by a couple of days.

Dispatch may also be delayed if a size alteration or engraving has been ordered for the jewellery.

Letter to home without tracking: 1-5 business days from dispatch.

Small parcel to door: 2-5 business days from dispatch.

Posti parcel: 1-3 business days from dispatch.

We currently only ship jewelry to Finland.

Products have a 14-day return policy. Exceptions include items for which a size change or engraving is ordered. These items do not have a right of return. The seal on the piece of jewelry must be intact for the jewelry to be returned.

Packaging, Gifts, and Special Requests

For products under 50 euros, we package them in neat black envelopes or lightweight boxes.

For products over 50 euros, we package them in light brown or black jewelry boxes with the Caratia logo (mini boxes may not have a logo). 

Diamond rings are packaged in Caratia branded jewelry boxes (mini boxes may not have a logo), or in a black "faux leather" jewelry box.

In exceptional circumstances, we may package items differently, for example if a certain box is out of stock.

For shipping, we use bubble envelopes and shipping boxes.

We do not currently offer gift wrapping as an option in our online store. However, in certain situations, we can make an exception and add, for example, a gift ribbon to the shipment. Please contact us by email regarding gift wrapping.

Yes! The gift card can be used in the online store. The gift card has a code that is entered in the designated field at the checkout in the online store. Once the balance has been used up, the card will be invalidated. The gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

The gift card will be delivered by email immediately after purchase. You will receive two separate messages; one will contain the gift card and the other will be the receipt. You can easily print the gift card or send it to the recipient.

Currently, the gift card options are €10, €20, €50, €100, €150 and €200.

Products and authenticity

We always check the hallmarks on jewelry before purchasing and reselling them. Most of the jewelry is Finnish Design, and therefore usually has clear hallmarks. Occasionally, we also sell jewelry that does not have clear hallmarks but is formally interesting and we believe will find a good owner. In such cases, we have not included information about the maker in the product details.

Gold jewelry always has at least a fineness mark. Most jewelry is Finnish, in which case it also has other Finnish hallmarks, such as an assay mark and/or a maker's mark. Some foreign (and also Finnish) jewelry only has a fineness mark. The fineness mark can be in the form of 585 or 14K. The gold content is also separately checked with an X-ray analyzer at the time of purchase.

For diamond jewelry, we also check the authenticity of the diamonds separately with our own device. We also use a loupe to examine the condition of the stones. We do not currently check the quality of the stones beyond this. However, the jewelry is priced with this in mind.

We sell Vintage jewellery and refurbished jewellery. All jewellery is pre-owned.

Vintage jewellery has been cleaned and/or polished, but may show some signs of age. If the piece has more noticeable wear, engraving, or other issues, it will be marked with a "2nd quality" designation. We often explain in more detail in the product description why a piece is classified as 2nd quality. You can always inquire about more information from our customer service.

Refurbished jewellery has been to a goldsmith, making it almost like new.

Please note that the images on the product page may be of a different individual item. Jewellery that is available in multiple pieces is usually shown with one or two images. We do not photograph each individual piece separately. If you wish, you can contact customer service before making a purchase for more information.

We buy jewellery directly from consumers, which is why they sometimes come with original certificates. If a piece of jewellery has an original certificate, we add the diamond information to the product pages. In addition, "diamond certificate" is mentioned separately in the extra information.

For other diamond jewellery, we ensure that the diamonds are intact, but we only state their estimated carat weight. Please note that the exact carat weight can usually only be determined by removing the diamond from its setting. We do not perform such procedures. We measure the diamond as accurately as possible with a diamond gauge, but the actual carat weight may differ slightly from what is stated.

If the jewellery comes with an original diamond certificate indicating that the diamond is a lab-grown diamond, we will mention this separately on the product page. In other cases, we do not investigate or separately disclose the origin of the diamonds.

Size and engravings

The product page indicates whether the ring size can be altered. If there is no mention of it on the product page, then unfortunately, the size cannot be changed. Generally, the issue is that resizing would loosen the diamonds and/or significantly alter the appearance of the jewelry. We only advertise resizing services for gold and diamond jewelry.

On the product page, next to the text about size alteration, there is a link. Clicking on it allows you to purchase a suitable size alteration. The ring's product page states the maximum amount by which the size can be changed.

Rings that have undergone size alteration are not eligible for return.

Please note that due to the size alteration, the delivery of the jewelry may take approximately 1-2 weeks.

Not all rings can be engraved, but we are happy to assist you with engraving matters. Before ordering a ring from the online store, it is advisable to contact customer service so that we can ask the goldsmith for their opinion.

Rings that have been engraved are not eligible for return.

Selling jewelry

KultaRahaksi buys used jewelry, which is then resold on the Caratia website.

You can easily get a price estimate using the free calculator on the KultaRahaksi.fi website. The calculator provides an estimate based on current day prices when you select the material, item category (e.g., Kalevala jewelry or diamond jewelry), purity, and weight. If you are unsure of the weight, you can also provide an approximate estimate. The weights of jewelry may also be found online.
