Kalevala Koru represents Finnish jewellery treasures at their best. A bronze, silver, or gold piece of jewellery brings a message from the distant past. The jewellery is often modelled after a museum piece found in archaeological excavations, with a history sometimes reaching back almost to the beginning of our calendar, and sometimes to the Viking Age or the last few centuries. These museum pieces have also provided the basis for fascinating variations of jewellery, with their rich world of ornamentation. Even the most modern Kalevala Koru designs embody strong Finnish culture, which has, over the centuries, absorbed influences from both the East and the West.
