Description
This piece of jewellery is based on a bronze chain distributor found in Tyrkkölä, Nokia. The oldest chain distributors, cast and decorated with spirals or circles, date back to the early 11th century. This type of jewellery probably originated in Western Finland, but it is also frequently found in Karelian crusader-era discoveries. Only a few similar pieces of jewellery have been found outside Finland, so this type of jewellery can be considered purely Finnish.
