Description
Kalevala Koru bracelets have a long tradition. Bracelets have been popular in Finland since the first centuries of our era. Initially, Finnish bracelets were heavily influenced by the East Baltic region, but the forms were easily adopted into Finnish culture and became national. The ornamentation of bracelets varied according to the era, from simply elegant to intricately patterned. The ornamental motifs were usually geometric and were most often made by casting or stamping, sometimes also by engraving. Women in ancient times often did not settle for just one piece of jewelry; they might have two identical rings on each arm.
