Description
Note! Stains may remain on the silver background, visible through the glass, as shown in the picture.
Jacques Offenbach's opera, The Tales of Hoffmann, is set in the Romantic era of the early 19th century. From the characters of the opera, jewellery designer Kirsti Doukas got the inspiration to design a signature jewellery collection for the opera festival. The glass reliefs embedded in silver in the jewellery collection interpret the nature of the three women Hoffmann loved.
The story features Olympia, who turns out to be a mechanical doll, her jewellery adorned with a simple, pure, closed bud in clear glass relief. Young and innocent Antonia is depicted by a delicate pink pendant with an opening flower bud. In the jewellery of Giulietta, the Venetian seductress, sensual femininity is expressed in deep red colour and a blooming floral motif.
