Description
The inspiration for this jewellery, a large axe-shaped silver plate pendant, was found in the village of Lämsä, Kuusamo, as part of a silver hoard buried in the ground. The jewellery dates back to the Crusader era, 1050–1150 AD. This was a time of both prosperity and turbulent events, and treasure hoards were created to protect against looting. The surface of the jewellery is decorated with abundant stamped patterns, suggesting it may have been made in Karelia.
Please note! Grade B earrings show more surface wear.
