Description
Kalevala Koru brings the magnificent jewelry treasures of the Viking Age (800-1050 AD) within reach of people today. Vikings visiting Finland on their eastern trade routes exchanged furs for, among other things, weapons and jewelry. Inspired by these jewels from all over the world, Finnish goldsmiths created new pieces that surprisingly took on a distinctly original, Finnish form. The jewelry created then, in turn, inspired later goldsmiths to design pieces that clearly have a Viking Age spirit. Germund Paaer, the creator of Kuutar, designed many beautiful Viking-themed pieces.
Note! The 70cm (2nd Quality) Version 2 necklace has an engraving with a name on the back.
