Description
Kalevala Koru bracelets have a long history. Bracelets have been popular in Finland since the first centuries of our era. Initially, the bracelets were heavily influenced by the Eastern Baltic, but the designs were easily adopted in Finland and became national. The decoration of the bracelets varied with the era, from simple and elegant to entirely patterned. The ornamental motifs were usually geometric and were most often made by casting or stamping, sometimes also by engraving. Women of old often did not settle for just one piece of jewelry, but might have two identical bracelets on each arm.
