Twinflower, Linnaea borealis, is a delicate flower of the lush spruce forest. The fragile plant rides on soft moss, raising flower stalks one after another. The modest twinflower is the shy beauty of the Finnish forest. Eino Leino's (1878 - 1926) beloved poem Nocturne breathes the timeless message of the Finnish summer night: The scents of twinflower and shadows of water, from them I make my heart's song. The verses of young Eino Leino have also inspired jewelry designer Kirsti Doukas. Her Vanamo (Twinflower) jewelry's pink pearls glow with gentle charm.
